Synonyms: |
Acecainide; NAPA; 4'-((2-(Diethylamino)ethyl)carbamoyl)acetanilide |
Application: |
N-Acetylprocainamide Hydrochloride is an antiarrhythmic agent and a metabolite of Procainamide (P755130). Procainamide is a drug used for both supraventricular and ventricular arrhythmias. For example, it can be used to convert new-onset atrial fibrillation, though it is suboptimal for this purpose. It can also be used to treat Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome by prolonging the refractory period of the accessory pathway. |
IUPAC Name: | 4-acetamido-N-[2-(diethylamino)ethyl]benzamide |
Description: | N-Acetylprocainamide, the N-acetylated metabolite of Procainamide, is a Class III antiarrhythmic agent. N-Acetylprocainamide is a class III antiarrhythmic, which blocks K+ channels. |
