Description: | 1-[(Phenylmethoxy)carbonyl]-L-prolyl-β-alanine is an intermediate in the synthesis of N-(L-Prolyl)-β-alanine (P756190). N-(L-Prolyl)-β-alanine is a derivative of β-Alanine (A637320); a naturally occurring beta amino acid that is formed in vivo by the degradation of Dihydro Uracil (D449990) and Carnosine (C184190). β-Alanine is also the rate-limiting precursor of Carnosine, as a result supplementation with β-alanine increases the concentration of Carnosine in muscles. |
